For older lesbians and
gay men in Croydon
Silver Rainbow is a friendly group of older gay people living in and around Croydon, who meet for lunch twice a month on Wednesdays and Thursdays (see the Diary for current dates) from 12 noon to 2:30.
Lunch at the Waterside Centre
Once
a month on a Wednesday we have a cooked lunch, provided by UNACC (Upper Norwood Association
for Community Care) at the Waterside Centre beside South Norwood
Lake — see Directions. The two-course
lunch now costs £5.50 (tea or coffee extra) and needs to be ordered the
day before.
Other venues
Once a month on a Thursday we go out for healthy meals at a variety of inexpensive local lunchtime venues, originally in partnership with Age UK Croydon, whose "Fit as a Fiddle" programme taught us about healthy diet and lifestyle choices. See where we're going next and where we've been already.

Other CAGS activities
Silver Rainbow is a service from Croydon Area Gay Society (CAGS), working in partnership with Age UK Croydon. Membership of CAGS costs £9 a year (for non-earners) and offers:
- monthly newsletter
- theatre and restaurant visits, days out to museums and places of interest
- two social events a month in members’ homes
- Special Interests Network so members can keep in touch with each other by phone or e-mail.
